CI and p-value consistency check
Does the reported confidence interval agree with the reported p value? Each flag is a prompt for human review, not a verdict.
How it works
alpha = 1 − CI level. The reported p is read according to its operator: with =, p below alpha is significant and p exactly at alpha is a borderline case that is never flagged; with < only values up to alpha are conclusive; with ≤ only values strictly below alpha; with > only values at or above alpha show non-significance; with ≥ only values strictly above alpha. A contradiction is flagged only when both the CI and the p value give a definite conclusion that disagree.
The approximate p implied by the CI follows the standard Altman and Bland approach (SE from the CI width, z = estimate / SE, on the log scale for ratios) and allows for rounding of the numbers you typed. It is an approximation and is shown for information.
